An interesting and educational craft for kids is origami. Making creations by folding paper may not appear educational but origami is known to improve reading and writing skills.

It is also an activity that works on processing skills. In order to make an origami design, the child needs to read and understand all of the instructions. The child then needs to process the details they’ve gathered from the written and/or photographic instructions before starting to fold the paper. Once the child starts the origami project, the child uses logical reasoning as he/she thinks about each fold and the next steps. Concentration is required and the child will learn about sequencing.

Another great benefit of origami for kids is the development of fine motor skills. It allows children to practise their hand-eye coordination and increase their manual dexterity.

Origami also helps to build self-confidence and social skills. The sense of achievement and empowerment from completing an origami project can be valuable in your child’s development.

Origami began in China and Japan hundreds of years ago. The word “origami” is Japanese and is a compound of two smaller Japanese words: “ori”, meaning fold, and “gami”, meaning paper.

Origami for kids is an activity that is fun, entertaining, challenging and still relevant today.

Food for thought. Thank you for that, however my thanks don’t end there. I suffer from color blindness (deuteranopia to be exact). I use Konqueror browser (unsure if that is important), and a large number of web pages are tricky to understand on account of a poor variety of colours used. On your site, as the choice of colors is sensible, the website is extremely tidy and comfortable to read. I am not certain if this was a premeditated and conscious act, or just sheer chance, but I still thank you.

I glorify the valuable info that you provide in your post. I will bookmark your web site and have my baby check up here oftentimes. I am rather certain they will learn a lot of unique stuff here than any one else!
